FASHION PREVIEW: LAS VEGAS MARKET COLOR STORY, PART 1, SEAGLASS

LAS VEGAS -- Summer in Las Vegas turns the heat up on hot color stories -- seaglass and spice -- and, in this two-part series, RugNews.com explores the not-to-be-missed area rug designs hitting the mark.

So in addition to offering new constructions and unusual fiber combinations, area rug design at the Las Vegas Market, running from July 30-Aug. 3, proves that there is plenty of fresh fashion on display.

The latest area rug developments take a slight detour from fashions witnessed at markets earlier this year. A very apparent trend story to unfold during the summer Atlanta International Area Rug Market proved to be cool, pacific seaglass hues. This new palette stretches from watery blues and smokey grays to sea-foam greens and subdued teals.

In Part 1 of our Fashion Preview to Las Vegas Market, RugNews.com explores seaglass in all its soothing iterations. The range of sought after style in this colorway is diverse.; abstract, painterly looks, simple graphics, erased and vintage styles, uber plush shags, geometric tribals, and all-over classic motifs.

The counterpoint to this color story is a warmer autumn look in shades ranging from vermilion and burnt orange to earthy russets. These spice tones recast the still popular Bohemian chic looks, giving them a warmer, earthier appeal.

Make sure not to miss  Part 2 of Rugnews.com's comprehensive premarket fashion report where we tour rug makers from Loloi to United Weavers and explore their interpretations of hot spice toned designs.
