Rug Exhibitors heading to Las Vegas Market continue to focus on sophisticated neutral designs.

LAS VEGAS -- Retail buyers and designers attending the summer 2025 edition of Las Vegas Market, July 26-31, will find an exciting new twist on neutral palettes in area rug intros, and rug exhibitors hope these easy-to-decorate with designs will heat up sales with customers as the important fall-holiday season approaches.

In this compendium of LVMKT rug intros, a pattern emerges with neutrals in near-white beiges, soft mineral tones, and a growing move to inky blue or brown, even black, colorways – all dressed up with plenty of texture to create subtle but dramatic patterns.

Still, rug exhibitors are conservative when it comes to expectations for market. “Summer Vegas is not as heavily trafficked as January,” says Cameron Capel of Capel Rugs. “However, we already have major appointments set with our larger dealers. It is enough to bring a few of us out to Vegas, but not the entire team. Our designer business remains steady, and we will see a lot of designers throughout the week,” Capel said.

Matthew Rouhanian of Dynamic Rugs adds: “Given the current state of the market and conversations with several buyers who have indicated they won't be attending, our expectations for the upcoming Summer Market are modest. We are primarily focusing on machine-made rugs, as they continue to offer an ideal balance of quality, design versatility, and affordability.”

Southwest Looms is optimistic, says Cynthia McLaren, “Although the winter market typically draws a larger crowd, we've found both the winter and summer Las Vegas Markets to be valuable experiences,” she told RugNews.com. “We genuinely enjoy participating in the Las Vegas Market — it's an ideal setting to connect with motivated buyers and to introduce Southwest Looms to new audiences.

And Mike Kalaty of Kalaty Rug Corp. tells RugNews.com, the company is excited to show off the depth and breadth of new products at Las Vegas Market this summer. “At the high-end, we have elegant new hand-knotted rugs in a range of style genres plus exciting additions to our high-end hand-finished power-loomed wool collection. We also continue to add new colors and designs to our popular oversized ‘Mansion Sizes’ grouping of best-selling high-end styles."

Following is a preview of new area rugs in the hottest new neutrals from top exhibitors at the Las Vegas show.
