Capel Showcases Five New Hand-Knotted Collections at High Point

For fall High Point Market, Capel is featuring five new vibrant hand-knotted collections in a range of directional transitional and traditional designs.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Five new hand-knotted wool rug collections sporting a range of eye-catching transitional and traditional designs and unique colorways will be in the spotlight in the Capel Rugs showroom, located at 200 N. Hamilton St., South Court, during High Point Market, Oct. 17-21. It also presents two new domestically made braided assortments.
 
ATLAS COLLECTION

Leading off the slate of introductions is Atlas, a hand-knotted construction from India in 100 percent wool blended with semi-worsted New Zealand yarns. Inspired by traditional geometric motifs and patterns, Atlas showcases a blend of rich, saturated colors that add depth and warmth to any space.

Atlas comes in four creative designs and colorways: Baltic Sea, Bordeaux, coco and terra cotta. Sizes include 2’6” x 9’, 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6”, 9’ x 12’ and 10’ x 14’ along with custom options. A 5’ x 8’ size may retail for under $1,699.

“Each piece in the Atlas collection feels like a distinctive work of art that effortlessly blends global heritage with modern sophistication,” said Cameron Capel, president – sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “In addition, these rugs offer a luxurious texture underfoot while ensuring durability for everyday living.”

Eluru, also made in India of 100 percent wool, is a refined collection of hand-knotted rugs that offers a balance of artistry and understated elegance. Featuring subtle geometric patterns rendered in tonal palettes, Eluru creates a sense of depth and texture without overwhelming a space. The soft, harmonious colorways range from warm neutrals to cool, contemporary hues, making these rugs versatile enough to complement a variety of interiors.

Eluru comes in four colorways: sage, mushroom, indigo and paprika. It is available in custom sizes, as well as five standard sizes, which are 2’6” x 9’, 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6”, 9’ x 12’ and 10’ x 14’. A 5’ x 8’ size may retail for under $1,699.

SCANDI COLLECTION

Scandi, the third new hand-knotted wool collection, combines the simplicity of Scandinavian design with the richness of traditional craftsmanship. Made in India from 100 percent wool with blended semi-worsted New Zealand yarns, Scandi features updated geometric patterns. Scandi is available in teal, cornflower, neutral and terra cotta colorways.

Scandi comes in a range of five sizes. They include 2’6” x 9’, 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6”, 9’ x 12’ and 10’ x 14’ sizes along with custom options. A 5’ x 8’ size may retail for under $1,699.

ZARIA COLLECTION

Zaria is another new hand-knotted collection with a Scandinavian theme. Blending a simple floral motif with a distinctly Scandinavian sensibility, Zaria offers a fresh take on classic design. Four colorways are offered, which include mint, water, adobe and lily.

“Crafted in India from 100 percent wool, each piece in the lovely Zaria collection features soft, understated patterns and a calming palette that enhances its clean, modern appeal,” Capel said.

Zaria comes in a range of five sizes. They include 2’6” x 9’, 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6”, 9’ x 12’ and 10’ x 14’ sizes along with custom options. A 5’ x 8’ size may retail for under $1,699.

ELYSIA COLLECTION

The fifth new hand-knotted 100 percent wool collection is Elysia. Offering traditional, Asian-influenced designs updated for today’s interiors, Elysia features a creative palette of rich, saturated colors. Three color ways are offered: cypress, sienna and indigo.

This market, Capel Rugs also is adding new colors and designs to its popular Charise collection in 100 percent wool. The new patterns are Aydin in a flax colorway, Baku in a midnight colorway and Isparta in an ink colorway.

An upscale, hand-knotted traditional collection from India, Charise features an assortment of classic motifs updated for today’s lifestyles in a fresh, appealing mix of space-dyed colors. The collection is available in 3’ x 5’, 5’ x 8’, 8’ x 10’, 9’ x 12’ and 10’ x 14’ sizes, as well as a 2’6” x 9’ runner. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for under $1,549.

NEW BRAIDED RUG INTRODUCTIONS

Also new for market are two new domestically made braid collections being added to the New American Originals line. Beechwood is a collection of three-color flat braids constructed of 67 percent nylon and 33 percent polypropylene for long life and durability. Five color ways are offered, including green multi, medium blue multi, navy multi, linen multi and vanilla multi. More than 20 sizes are available, including round designs, square designs and runners, as well as baskets, stair treads and chair pads. A 5’ x 8’ oval rug may retail for under $549.

Timber Haven, the second new braided collection, comes in a similar nylon and polypropylene construction and wide range of sizes. This new collection offers five colorway choices — gray multi, oatmeal multi, dark blue multi, olive multi and berry multi. A 5’ x 8’ oval rug may retail for under $599.

To encourage retailers to visit its showroom during market, Capel will be serving a signature frozen Frosé cocktail each day. And from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 through Monday, Oct. 19, Capel Rugs will be holding its Rugs & Revelry socials, featuring artisanal charcuterie, handcrafted cocktails and live music.

In addition, Capel Rugs will be offering a “Rugsy” stuffed animal giveaway to customers who place orders at market.
