NEW YORK -- Rug District stalwart Harounian Rugs International (HRI) joins the lineup at boutique rug trade event COVER Connect, Sept. 9-11, for the first time and will showcase its latest high-end contemporary and transitional rugs.

"We are very excited to be joining the COVER Connect Show -- it targets our customer base," said Greg Jordt, VP of sales and marketing. "We have been very impressed with the level of customers it has continued to attract over the past several years."

COVER Connect debuted in September 2021 at Manhattan's Altman Building and included 12 high-end hand-knotted area rug exhibitors. The event expanded in 2022 with 22 rug labels participating, and this year's trade event will include more than three dozen rug makers for dealers to shop.

"This is an event that offers industry professionals a curated group of high-end rug brands, all of which will be offering great assortments of unique handmade rugs," Jordt said.

At its stand, HRI will introduce and showcase several collections, including those that have been popular with buyers at other rug markets, and debuting several unseen-before assortments. Below are some highlights:

CATALINA

HRI will introduce COVER Connect buyers to its made-to-order program, showcasing the best-selling Catalina collection.

Catalina, HRI's best-selling collection in its made-to-order program is hand-knotted of New Zealand wool and pure silk highlights. Crafted in India, Catalina, which includes four abstract watermark designs, offers a very dense pile.

MILO COLLECTION

The on-point Milo collection premieres at HRI's debut COVER Connect exhibit.

HRI's feature COVER Connect introduction is Milo, a collection of four water-color inspired hand-knotted patterns. Buyers at the show will be the first to glimpse Milo. With a pile of finely spun 100 percent New Zealand wool, Milo collection is crafted in an Indo-Tibetan weave, with a soft, dense pile. These rugs are offered in color options inspired by the brilliance of gemstones with ombre-like motifs.

HORIZON COLLECTION

HRI's abstract Horizon lineup offers a tightly woven heavily textured pile, crafted of spun plied wool and viscose. Shown HA-512

HRI's Horizon collection, rolled out earlier this year, features a tightly woven heavily textured pile of spun plied wool and viscose. Comprised of five patterns, the line's abstract designs are hand-knotted in India. Palettes range from soft pastel to neutral tones of silver and beige, to bolder designs in black and white, and a vibrant red and orange accented style.

PLATINUM OUSHAK

With oversize Oushak motifs rendered in soft pastels, HRI's popular Platinum Oushak is semi-programmed. Shown, PL-19

Among HRI's top-selling high-end assortments, Platinum Oushak will be showcased at COVER Connect. Platinum Oushak, which offers large-scale Oushak motifs, is a semi-programmed collection in sizes up to 12x18. Designs are colored in on-trend soft washed pastels.
