LAS VEGAS -- Three winter shows -- Las Vegas Market, TISE/Surfaces and COVER Connect Las Vegas -- ran concurrently this winter and featured a fashion-forward array of directional broadloom debuts. With cut-and-sew continuing to grow in popularity, the latest introductions featured design trends popular in the area rug category.

While traditional stripes and plaids remain a favorite, new interpretations of the genre offer a fresh twist to these classics. In addition, a range of floral and botanical motifs, addressing the desire for more whimsical or cottage-inspired styles gained in prominence. Classic Persian motifs remained popular as well, albeit in a refreshed statement with trending color palettes of warm neutrals or abstracted patterns.

As in the area rug category, the newest fashion broadloom introductions offered a range of updated solids, including space-dyed looks in both wools and synthetics, and neutral hues full of texture. Denser and plusher styles also made an appearance as customers continue to seek out soft and inviting textures underfoot. Natural understated textural designs were featured across the three events. And neutrals took a fashion turn with browns in a range of tones (chocolate the bestseller at Momeni, and deeper shades such as navy, charcoal and black. At Prestige, every new line included at least one green, taking cues from area rug trends.
