HIGH POINT. N.C. -- Kalaty Rug Corp. continues to grow its successful collaboration with fashion icon Josie Natori, bringing her signature style to her first indoor-outdoor rugs debuting at High Point Market, June 5-9.

The first N Natori indoor-outdoor collection, dubbed N Natori 24-SEVEN, reflects the designer's East-Meets-West fashion aesthetic and takes it outdoors in a power-loomed construction made of polypropylene.

“We continue to enjoy success with our heirloom hand-knotted licensed Natori rug collections – Dynasty and Lhasa,” said Ariel Kalaty, a company spokesman. “N Natori is a natural extension of our Natori partnership and this summer we are launching our first N Natori outdoor rugs with 24-SEVEN."

N Natori was rolled out last summer with the Serengeti collection and for June High Point, market-goers will be able to view the N Natori Bliss collection for the first time. Bliss re-imagines Natori prints for the floor. These rugs are power-loomed using a combination of viscose and acrylic yarns, with a knots-per-square-inch (KPSI- 260) that is equivalent to that of many hand-knotted rugs.

Kalaty first introduced its collaboration with Josie Natori in 2015 with two hand-knotted collections, Dynasty and Shangri-La, adding Lhasa, in 2016.

Those heirloom hand-knotted Natori collections were followed by the introduction last year of the N Natori series, a range of more popularly priced power-loomed rugs. In fact, the N Natori label is used for Josie Natori's more accessibly priced ready to wear fashions, and likewise the N Natori rugs by Kalaty feature moderately priced power-loomed rugs.

What began with the fashion designer creating lingerie on her living room floor in 1977 has evolved into a lifestyle. “Natori is a total concept, a way of life,” Natori stated. “I just happened to start at the back door with lingerie. Now as the company grows, we grow our sensibility too, taking our concept and making it a whole world. As we say here, Natori is ‘where life meets art’."
