Jon Morrison, Retired Sales VP for Dynamic Rugs, Dies at 73

The longtime Dynamic Rugs vice president of sales and marketing died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020

UNION CITY, Okla. -- Jon Morrison, longtime Dynamic Rugs vice president of sales and marketing, died suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020. He was 73.

Matthew Rouhanian, Dynamic Rugs principal who hired Morrison in 1993, said of the iconic sales executive, "This is very sad news for everyone in our company and for his many colleagues in the industry," Rouhanian said. "We worked closely together for almost 30 years, and I think everyone in the industry is familiar with his storytelling skills, and his love of the rug business. We have many fond memories of Jon and will miss him greatly."

Prior to joining Dynamic Rugs, Morrison was with Sphinx by Oriental Weavers for eight years as a regional sale manager. From January 1972 to 1978, he served as a buyer with Federated Department Stores in various departments including menswear, custom window treatments and upholstery, and area rugs.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Morrison received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry followed by an MBS Business degree.

A visitation for Jon Morrison will be Friday, Aug. 14 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Huber Benson Chapel (100 S. Barker Ave.) in El Reno, Oklahoma. The funeral services will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church (400-416 Kate Boevers St.) in Union City at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, the burial will follow in the St Joseph's cemetery.
 
There will also be a memorial service at Elevate Life Church on Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m. (8500 Teel Pkwy.) in Frisco, Texas.
