NEW YORK – An international coterie of the finest names in contemporary luxury carpet design gathered at New York City’s Metropolitan Pavilion for CoverConnect 2025, Sept. 13 to Sept. 15, showcasing collections that will influence design in the category for years to come.
The growing show continues to expand its boundaries, this year showcasing 46 exhibitors on three levels, and including brands that have been spied at coveted European shows from Maison & Objet to Salone del Mobile. The boutique trade event brings sought-after European names to American retailers and designers to shop in one convenient NYC location, and the fashion on display did not disappoint.

New this year was a strong movement to romantic odes to nature from finely detailed -- almost photo-realistic -- overscale floral designs to artful bird motifs floating across intricately knotted grounds. Omnipresent as well were updated takes on classic genres such as Oushaks and gabbehs; as well as geometric patterns that showcased impressive textural finesse. Color trended to rusts, greens and green blues, as well as warm neutrals, with many exhibitors boldly (and completely) overhauling their palettes for 2026 intros.

Buyers attending boutique trade show COVER Connect New York greet old rug industry friends and meet new ones.

What's more, the range of abstracts continue to stretch the bounds of creative expression in the luxury market, while several companies showed off their artistry for the floor with tongue-in-cheek graphic messages boldly splashed across canvases of wool.

Follow along with RugNews.com as we tour the people and products making fashion news in the luxury arena.
