LAS VEGAS -- Kaleen Rugs & Broadloom, which has been aggressively growing its broadloom and custom carpet program since the launch of that division 2014, has introduced a new, simplified custom broadloom display designed for furniture stores and rug retailers.

The new system includes two sample display racks to accommodate Kaleen-branded handmade broadloom products, and another for the company's Pure Life label, a line of all-natural, handmade broadloom that rolled out in 2020.

"Our broadloom carpet business has surpassed our rug business -- and our sales were up 75 percent last year," Blake Dennard, vice president sales, told RugNews.com. "We've gone from 11 Kaleen broadloom collections to 65 styles, and our Pure Life all-natural brand is doing great too. We built a new display system for furniture stores that is easy to understand. Kaleen broadloom collections can be shown on two racks (65 styles).  There are only three price points for our broadloom which is designed for furniture and rug retailers, and it is very simple for salespeople to figure out.

"It's an untapped market and furniture store salespeople don't really understand cut and sew, so we wanted to create something with only three price points that simplifies the process and makes it even simpler. We had major retailers come in and tell us they are desperate for a solution," Dennard said.

The new display system includes three movable racks that can easily be connected into one single unit. Every style has a generous hanging sample, which includes various edge finish options on its border. Most important perhaps for sales staff and consumers, is that there are only three price points for Kaleen and Pure Life styles, each with its own color-coded tag.

Kaleen expects that simplifying the custom rug process will make it easier for retail sales associates to sell them.

"This has been two years in development and is fully rebate-able -- if you sell product, you will earn your money back. We are building on the big success story of our broadloom and taking it to our furniture and rug retailers. It gives furniture and rug showrooms double the opportunity to sell a matching design and with size flexibility for all parts of the home," Dennard said.
