HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Upbeat and bolstered by full appointment calendars, area rug exhibitors arrive at their High Point showrooms this week with plenty of fresh fashion and value to counter the effects of import tariffs and Middle East conflict. And the market, running April 25-29, is already underway with appointments before the official opening day.

“We’re looking forward to a busy High Point Market despite the many business challenges facing the home furnishings industry,” said Cameron Capel of Capel Rugs. “Our retailers are always looking for innovative products, and we have a lot of exciting new high-value rugs to show them.”

HRI's Greg Jordt, EVP, noted, “We are definitely seeing an uptick in sales going into the second quarter and we are seeing many more commitments by current and potential new accounts than we had going into last fall's market. Now that the tariff issues have stabilized and we have issued new lower pricing, customers are ready to get back into business – but a continuing war may change all that.”

“We’re looking forward to an exciting spring market in High Point, with appointments trending significantly upward across all regions and strong momentum building,” said Craig Trimble, VP of Karastan sales, Mohawk Home. “The first half of the year is shaping up to be exceptionally strong, with performance significantly surpassing that of the past two years.”

In this two-part Guide to Area Rugs at High Point Market, RugNews.com offers a preview of must-see products launching for spring 2026 and beyond.
