DWELL ON DESIGN EVENT ACQUIRED BY
SURFACES SHOW OWNER, INFORMA

DALLAS, TX - As  Dwell on Design LA opened at the Los Angeles Convention Center today, Informa Exhibitions U.S., Construction and Real Estate and Dwell Media announced that Dwell on Design, an asset of Dwell Media, LLC with shows in New York and Los Angeles, will now be owned by UK-based Informa and run by Informa Exhibitions U.S. 

The agreement formalizes a partnership between Dwell and Informa, which aims to expand the scope and international presence and influence of Dwell on Design. 32,000 designers, architects and consumers are expected to attend Dwell on Design LA from May 29 to 31, 2105. Both companies claim that Dwell on Design is the largest design event in the country. 

Informa Exhibitions U.S. President Rick McConnell and Dwell Media President and CEO Michela O'Connor Abrams said they made this announcement on the opening day of the L.A. event to celebrate the power of this collaboration - one that will elevate Dwell on Design for the attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors that they value across each of their shows.

The show has a heavy concentration of building products exhibitors, from windows and doors to hard surface floors, as well as appliances and lighting.  In reviewing the roster of exhibitors, RugNews.com found two companies offering area rugs, Ariana and notNeutral, both of Los Angeles.

Integral to the Dwell on Design experience is the on-stage content, which will continue to be curated by Dwell Media - with Dwell Executive Vice President of Content Amanda Dameron leading the editorial team. Since its inception in 2006, the content themes have expanded from the show floor to offsite events at Dwell Design Week and will remain dedicated to driving attendee engagement and exhibitor activations at Dwell on Design.

With the acquisition of Dwell on Design, Informa adds to its roster of over 150 events worldwide and continues to expand its shows in the Design vertical. For both brands, the long-term partnership agreement is entered into with the goal of establishing Dwell on Design’s global presence as the premier design event series and voice of modern design around the world.
