Thirteen new couture area rug labels head to the second edition of COVER Connect Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS -- Following the success of the inaugural COVER Connect Las Vegas 2023 at Surfaces, the second edition adds thirteen rug newcomers at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from Jan. 24–26, 2024. (Jan. 19 is the last day to register for your free pass!  Click here.)

Curated by COVER magazine, the boutique event has more than doubled in size to twenty high-end area rug brands bringing their highest-quality rugs and custom capabilities to market-goers attending the major annual flooring exposition.

Newcomers to the Vegas edition include Amer Rugs, Battilossi, Creative Touch, Eliko Rug Gallery, Harcourt Collection, Jaipur Living, Momeni, Rug & Kilim, S&H Rugs, Sahar, Tissage, Wool & Silk and Zollanvari. They join 2023 participants Design Materials Inc., French Accents, Kirkit Rugs, Pampas Leather, Samad Rugs, Stark Studio Rugs and Tamarian.

"We decided to participate in the CCLV because we'll be meeting with some of the top potential buyers in the industry and showcasing our latest collection of rugs," Raj Choudhary, president Amer Rugs, told RugNews.com. "The CCLV market will allow Amer Rugs to reach even more customers and provide them with the opportunity to see the newest product lines. We are going to show 50-plus new designs. We have something for everyone. From traditional to contemporary, there's sure to be a rug that catches a buyer’s eye."

Adds New Jersey-based hand-knot specialist S&H Rugs' Ori Wilbush, "CCLV is important for us to meet with some of our remote customers face to face and perhaps connect with a few new ones. With the kind of inventory that we manage and maintain and the variety of the different collections it's important for us to give our product the maximum exposure possible. COVER Connect is a rising star of handmade rugs and we are very happy to be part of it."

With the significant expansion of area rug exhibitors, buyers and industry professionals will encounter a broader range of the most sought-after traditional, transitional and contemporary rugs, suitable to a wider range of tastes and budgets. The pavilion also will provide the opportunity to discover outstanding custom options and programmed lines from some of the most innovative rug brands serving the US market, and to source fashion-forward rugs specifically tailored to high-end clients.

Among the custom options on display will be the latest designs from Momeni, which is returning to Surfaces in the COVER Connect pavilion to showcase an expansive lineup of trend-driven broadloom designs and to showcase an amped up cut-and-sew program. "We have been absent for the past years, but we feel the time has come to return to Surfaces with 13 new collections of top high fashion and on trend products that we have been working diligently to create."

Likewise, Tamarian, which participated in the 2023 CCLV and also the 2023 New York boutique edition, will use the boutique event as a launchpad for its new Curated Custom program that includes 23 patterns. "This program is a recognition of what we do best, custom rugs from Nepal," Ryan Higgins, owner of the Baltimore-based rug studio said. "Our strategy is to expand our custom work by making it simple, limiting added costs, and leveraging our technological tools to find the right balance of access, value, and service while leading with quality."

For 2024, the exclusive COVER Connect Las Vegas pavilion within Surfaces has been relocated to a premium position next to a major walkway in alignment with a main entrance—close to the Wools Pavilion, which hosts brands like Prestige Mills, Stanton Carpet, Couristan and Kaleen—to optimize crossover business.

Along with StonExpo and TileExpo, Surfaces is one of three well-established, world-class trade shows that make up The International Surface Event (TISE)—the largest North American floor covering, stone, and tile industry event and THE industry marketplace for buyers, specifiers, and influencers to source products, gain design inspiration and develop their businesses.
