RugNews.com stops by dozens of showrooms to bring you the newest and most newsworthy High Point rug intros.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- RugNews.com was on the ground across the High Point campus touring all major and smaller boutique area rug exhibitors during the spring edition of market.

Top styles continue to favor updated traditional and transitional styles in contemporary palettes A fresh crop of textured geometric patterns ranging from updated tribal styles to contemporary were a heavy focus for spring introductions. Another top style category included solids, often with a dense and heavy hand, and active solids, which are more texture driven -- looks created to go with any decor genre and style.

Warm tones such as ivory, cream and camel remain omnipresent among rug debuts, nonetheless, vibrantly colored patterns or dramatic black or charcoal infused designs also were also having some time under the sun. Green remains a favorite predominately in sage or moss tones, though richer tones of the shade were also notable across showrooms.

While many of the newest introductions focused heavily on handmade constructions for designers and retail buyers at the higher-end, high-quality machine-made rugs, woven of either synthetic fibers or wool, remain in demand, even with designers who have large homes to decorate for busy families.
