Fashion-forward area rug introductions span styles, weaves and price points at fall at High Point Market.
HIGH POINT, N.C. -- In this industry exclusive, RugNews.com presents some of the latest fashion-forward area rug introductions on show at High Point Market. Rug buyers heading to fall market will have a broad array of styles, weaves and price points to browse at area rug showrooms across the High Point campus.
Officially kicking of Saturday Oct. 17 and running through Oct. 21, some fall High Point Market buyers turn up early to attend events kicking off on Friday, or arrive early to avoid the crowds or to get first dibs on vintage and one-of-a-kind area rugs.
Whenever attendees descend, area rug showrooms have continued to update their assortments focusing on top trends and fashion-forward colors. Whether shopping for washables, performance, hand-tufted or hand-knotted rugs, there is freshness and innovation across weaves, fibers and price points.
Among the notable trends is a continued warming up of palettes, with fall colors, such as rich browns or rusts expected to be fall favorites. Nonetheless, a counterpoint is a notable swing back to blues in shades from soft French blue to contemporary navy. And while the color never fully disappeared, it gave way to grays followed by ivories and now appears to be ascendant again. Green also sticks around for the season as the color continues to resonate with designers and homeowners.
Styles remain focused on updated traditional and transitional patterning, largely in neutral tones, however saturated color palettes are also on tap. Buyers will see additional fresh Moroccan- and Scandinavian-influeced patterns. Box motifs and open field border styles also are expected to make waves as rug exhibitors rework these themes in contemporary colors and updated motifs. Finally, buyers will also be able to shop the newest geometric patterns, some of which offer a more tailored structure to interiors, and others which continue to toy with softer organic motifs. Richly textured abstracts in trending color palettes remain a popular choice and will be on display at numerous showrooms across market.
RugNews.com curates more than 30 must-see rug introductions, in the industry's most comprehensive rug preview guide.
