HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Oriental Weavers presented 34 new rug designs across three new collections at spring High Point Market and updated traditional designs and transitional styles continued to be favorites with buyers.

In fact, the new Westwood collection was an immediate hit. Offering 14 neutral-hued designs in a 1 million-point, machine-woven construction, Westwood is crafted in Egypt from soft, space-dyed polyester yarn, and delivers exceptionally intricate detail and a smooth, luxurious hand. Buyers appreciate its muted earthy palette that includes deep midnight blue, powdery blue and understated neutrals like mushroom, sand, and warm ivory.

Favorite designs range from modern traditional styles, and buyers gave the collection's medallion design WES01, which executed OW's top-selling medallion design for Westwood, midnight blue classic floral pattern (WES13) in this category a big thumbs up. An appetite remains for vintage botanicals, which are rendered in the collection with softly faded styling and accents of sage and muted olive with hints of gold and blush.

Buyers also gave the new Caroline collection a warm reception. The line includes 10 designs which also showcase a soft contemporary neutral palette. Caroline collection is machine-woven of 100 percent space-dyed polyester and features a unique cut-and-loop construction that creates a rustic, hand-loomed effect with incorporated fringe for added character. This collection, machine-woven in Turkey, offers a softly saturated palette of vintage gold, moss green, misty blue, and muted amaranth red, and is anchored by warm neutrals from sandy ivory to earthy brown. Designs include flowing botanical motifs and global traditional designs and a favorite design is CRL08, which features a soft red ground with ivory and brown floral pattern and micro border.

The new Lauren collection was a hit for its value-driven price point that offered plenty of perceived value for customers seeking more affordable rugs. Lauren, machine-woven of 100 percent polyester in Turkey, has a dense, soft pile crafted with multi-textured yarns to create a high-low effect. The 10 softly toned designs feature a subtly contrasting neutral palette of muted browns and cool gray-blue tones that are easy-to-coordinate with. Buyers responded positively to both the line’s abstract motifs and its updated traditional patterns.

A major success for Oriental Weavers has been its Warner collection of solid non-solid border motifs, woven of a wool and nylon blend on an Axminster loom in Egypt. Introduced in Las Vegas in January, these rugs showcase richly saturated and earthy jewel tones and have the appearance of a zero-pile hand-knotted rug. A rich olive green- (pictured above) and warm mid-toned brown are proving favorites.

Likewise the company's high-quality Hastings collection, which was an instant hit when introduced in 2023, continues to be a top-seller for buyers seeking vibrant jewel-tone traditional patterns. Offering a1.4-million-point construction, Hastings is power-loomed in Egypt of space-dyed polyester and shrink polyester, with a dense texture.

OW also showcased the Estate Series of its new generation of Axminster rugs that includes its Acacia, Legacy, Lilihan, Lucca and Soleri collections. These collections feature rich color palettes and pattern inspiration from around the world. Each piece is woven on a specialized Axminster loom resulting in an heirloom-quality rug that offers the consistency and durability of precision weaving, as well as the charm and individuality of a hand-knotted rug.
