HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Kaleen more than doubled its High Point presence with the addition of an adjacent showroom, and visitors at the fall 2021 market got a glimpse of the expansive new (Showplace 2345) space, which the company will completely remodel for an official grand opening at the spring 2022 High Point Market.

"This is a soft launch," said Monty Rathi, Kaleen COO. "We have approved our architect's plans but decided to wait until spring so as not to rush; we want to create the best possible build-out for the space and our products."

The expansion seamlessly integrates the next-door showroom, S-2350, into the existing Kaleen space, forming a spacious, cohesive unit for presentation of the company's area rugs and broadloom.

Kaleen, which celebrates 25 years in the business in 2021, is now able to create multiple inspirational displays in the expanded location, and buyers positively responded, according to Brian Brigham, director of marketing & public relations. "In the past we were able to showcase two to three collections at most. Here we can highlight new lines, and bring new life to older collections as well. We can also focus on creating easy shopping spaces for our customers. The new Kaleen showroom incorporates a fusion of fun and traditional style -- giving our shoppers and guests a space to relax and unwind."

HILARY FARR INTRODUCTIONS

Hilary Farr's area rugs are presented in a spacious display with her new Natural Jute collection, hanging left.

This market, shoppers were first to see two brand new collections by Hilary Farr Designs, including a 100 percent sustainable jute collection, and a new machine-made collection made from recycled polyester.

Designer Hilary Farr, who launched her inaugural rug collection with Kaleen two years ago said, "My collections are focused on love – love for the earth above all else. Sustainability is very important to me. Kaleen also shares this passion of mine and has been able to create my Natural Jute collection of rugs made from a blend of jute and wool, making them 100 percent sustainable. My Natural Jute collection comes in various colors, geometric patterns, and shapes with hints of southwestern flair."

Farr noted her debuting Sterling Impressions collection is designed to inspire imagination. A machine-made high-low textural range made from recycled polyester and shrink yarn, the palette is silver and gray-based with splashes of blues, golds and deep reds. Sizes range from 1'10" x 2'9" 8'5" x 11'6".

At this week's market, Farr took time out from a working session with Kaleen's product development team to meet with key customers. In addition, RugNews.com spied future Kaleen licensing partner and HGTV star Tamara Day in the showroom for a hush-hush product development meeting as well.
