Charleston interior designer Cortney Bishop debuts first area rugs alongside Amadi Carpet and will host a
Cocktail Party during High Point Market.
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Charleston-based interior designer Cortney Bishop and Amadi Carpets introduce the Cortney Bishop x Amadi Carpets collection, which debuts at the upcoming High Point Market, Oct. 26-30, at the Verellen showroom. The series of 14 handwoven rug styles bring together Bishop’s expressive design language with Amadi’s legacy of craftsmanship, and the duo will celebrate the launch with a special Cocktail Party at Verellen.
The designs draw inspiration from vintage Swedish textiles—with their graphic, geometric patterns—and the soft, fluid forms found in nature. Some styles are rhythmic and structured, while others offer more abstract interpretations of flora and fauna. The color palette is grounded in earthy greens, rich browns, golden tones and warm peach hues—bringing warmth, depth, and a sense of calm to any space.
“This collection embodies everything I value as a designer—soulful spaces, lasting craftsmanship, and thoughtful design,“ says Cortney Bishop, founder and creative director of Cortney Bishop Design. “I’ve always been drawn to the tension between structure and asymmetry, and that’s reflected throughout the collection. Each piece was designed to feel soulful and lived-in, with a sense of rhythm and contrast that adds real depth and character to a space."
The new Cortney Bishop x Amadi Carpets collection of area rugs can be crafted of pure wool or wool and silk.

This launch marks the first official collaboration between Bishop and Los Angeles-based Amadi Carpets—but the creative relationship runs deep. Over the years, Bishop has worked closely with the Amadi team to design custom rugs for client projects, united by a shared appreciation for material integrity, craftsmanship, and meaning. This collection is a natural evolution of that partnership—a thoughtful, ready-to-purchase expression of their combined vision and years of mutual trust.
“Collaborating with Cortney has been a true creative partnership,” says Zubair Ahmadi, co-founder of Amadi Carpets. “Her designs are emotionally resonant and visually striking, and she truly values the craftsmanship behind the work. There was a natural creative alignment between us from the beginning, and that synergy made this collection both authentic and timeless.”

The new Magnolia rug, crafted of wool and silk, is a charming riff on classic floral designs and contemporary styling.
Each rug in the collection is handcrafted by Amadi’s expert artisans using hand-dyed threads and traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations. The collection is available in 100 percent wool or a luxurious wool-and-silk blend. Wool offers a soft, matte finish and exceptional durability—ideal for high-traffic areas and everyday use—while silk adds a subtle sheen and refined texture, highlighting the artistry of more intricate patterns. Amadi’s commitment to traditional techniques, ethical production, and material excellence is central to the collection. Each rug is woven with care, intention, and an artistry that brings the designs to life.
“There’s something so special about the way the Amadi team works—you can really feel the precision, patience, and history behind each piece they create,” says Bishop. “This craftsmanship and creative process is what initially resonated with me, and from there, we’ve built a deep trust that made this collaboration feel natural.”
The collection will debut at High Point Market from October 23-29, 2025, with select styles on view at the Verellen Showroom. Custom sizes are available, with pricing provided upon request. An 8x10 rug starts at $7,650 for wool and $16,650 for the wool-and-silk blend (based on $95/sqft and $210/sqft, respectively).
