TROY, N.C. – Capel Rugs grows its popular Serengeti collection and introduces several new lineups in a range of weaves for fall High Point Market shoppers. In addition, seeking to add an extra element of fun to the market shopping experience, Capel Rugs is unveiling a special giveaway with each purchase at the October 25-29 High Point Market tied to the expansion of its popular Serengeti animal print collection.
Capel Rugs’ High Point showroom is located at 200 N. Hamilton St., South Court. The company moved to the Design District in October of 2024 and the new location has proven to be a huge hit.
“We’re starting a new tradition this market by offering a gift with each purchase,” said Cameron Capel, president – sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “This market’s gift celebrates the reintroduction of our Serengeti line with an exciting new color way in two patterns – Antelope and Leopard in sky. The gift is a surprise of the ‘four-legged variety’ that we think will add a touch of delight to our customers’ showroom visits.”
The front room of Capel Rugs’ Design District showroom is being redesigned to spotlight the unique looks of Serengeti, a hand-tufted, 100 percent wool collection made in India. Versatile enough to complement any interior style from traditional to modern, Serengeti’s designs effortlessly combine nature-inspired patterns with neutral and tone-on-tone colorways and textures. Fine pile yarns looped for strong resilience enhance the pattern detail.
With the latest additions, Serengeti now features four patterns and nine colorways. They include Antelope in beige and sky; Cheetah in river, ash and plains; Leopard in natural, taupe and sky; and Zebra in ash and beige.
Four standard sizes are offered – 2’6” x 8’, 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. Custom sizes also are available. A 5’ x 8’ size may retail for under $499.
MACHINE-WOVEN DEBUTS

Capel's new machine-woven Manor lineup, pictured in cadet colorway, is crafted of wool and nylon.
At the Fall High Point Market, Capel Rugs also is adding three new machine-made collections. They include:
Galata: A new traditional collection with an abstract appeal, Galata is machine woven in Turkey of 100 percent polyester for durability and easy care. Each rug carries the soul of classical themes from the past, such as faded medallions, while fresh, asymmetrical strokes bring a vibrant new rhythm to each design.
Galata is available in three patterns and ten colorways with a 3/8-inch pile. They include Abstract, in stone, slate, shore and sea mist colorways; Heriz, in moss, limestone and rustique colorways; and Keshan, in shadow, ash and ember. Four sizes are available: 5’3” x 7’10, 7’10” x 10’, 9’x 12’5” and a 3’x 9’6” runner. A 5’3” x 7’10” rug may retail for under $499.
“Galata was inspired by our travels through the winding streets of Istanbul,” Capel said. “It’s a timeless place where the old city’s whispers meet the hum of modern life.”
Ives: Sleek yet expressive, Ives brings an elevated, contemporary tone to modern interiors. Machine-woven in India with precision and care, each rug features a fluid interplay of cool silver and warm gold hues, capturing the quiet drama of metallics in motion.
“Abstract in design and refined in palette, these pieces evoke the shimmer of light on brushed surfaces, the softness of patinaed metals and the quiet luxury of an erased traditional design,” Capel said. “The subtle sheen and textural pile height variation add depth and dimension, making Ives an ideal foundation for interiors that value modern sophistication with a hint of glamour.”
Ives is available in three colorways – silver, pearl and bronze. Four sizes also are offered – 4’ x 5’10”, 5’3” x 7’ 10”, 7’6” x 10’10” and 8’10” x 11’9”. A 4’ x 5’10” design may retail for under $449.
Manor: Rooted in quiet elegance and the grandeur of traditional interiors, the Manor Collection offers a distinguished selection of machine made wool area rugs that honor classic design with enduring sophistication. Crafted in India from 80 percent wool and 20 percent nylon, each piece blends Old World charm with modern durability.
Colorways include earl gray, sagefield, fern, brick, taupe, cream, indigo multi, cadet and pewter. Four sizes are available, including 5’ x 7’6”, 7’9” x 10’, 9’ x 12’6” and a 2’6” x 10’ runner. A 5’x 7’6” rug may retail for under $1,199.
“Inspired by heritage motifs – Persian florals, architectural borders and faded medallions – the Manor collection brings the warmth and poise of a stately estate into contemporary homes,” Capel said. “The wool pile offers a rich texture underfoot, while subtle variations in tone and detail lend each rug a gently lived-in character.”
With tariff structures still a moving target, Capel said the company is a bit wary about the outlook for business this market. “But we have strong introductions that we are excited about, and we know they will hold their own with those retailers and customers who visit us in High Point.”
HAND-TUFTED DEBUT

Abacos, shown in lagoon colorway, is a hand-tufted introduction offering textured irregular geometric shapes.
Another new nature-inspired collection debuting in the Capel showroom this market is Abacos. Hand tufted in India of 100 percent wool, Abacos features free-form, high-low, irregular geometric shapes that resemble natural elements. Three nature-themed colorways are offered – lagoon, mangrove and coconut husk. A choice of three sizes are available – 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for under $449.
“Abacos is modern yet casual,” Capel said. “The patterns’ shapes are non-representational and asymmetrical, which aligns with modern organic or biomorphic design styles.
"The collection’s distinct patterns and fresh colorways also make these rugs versatile enough for any room in the home."
HAND-LOOMED INTRODUCTIONS
In the hand-loomed rug category, Capel Rugs’ introductions include Antissa, a new jacquard design inspired by the serene landscapes and ancient ruins of Aegean towns. Crafted in India with a wool and viscose blend, Antissa is available in five color ways – moss, coal, tide, shell and dune – and three sizes – 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for under $1,199.
“This jacquard-loomed collection weaves timeless texture with subtle depth,” Capel said. “The collection’s undefined patterns echo ancient themes of layered stone and flowing water, grounding today’s living spaces in quiet elegance and natural beauty. They’re expressive yet understated and complement both minimalist and richly layered spaces.”
