NORCROSS, Ga. -- Amer Rugs has introduced its first hand-hooked area rugs, showcased in its newly updated catalog, and expects these new area rugs, along with additions in other recently entered categories, to help drive sales for the remainder of 2021.
"We have been getting a great response on our hand-woven selections, which are inspired by leading design trends and bestsellers," Raj Choudhary, president, told RugNews.com, noting that Amer now has 11 hand-woven collections in its product lineup, including the new Affinity collection. "So we decided to introduced a new category, hand-hooked, which has been very well received by our clients."
The Georgia-based company historically has been known as a source for hand-knotted rugs but has continued to expand its reach, after debuting a machine-made program in 2017. Now the company adds hand-loomed qualities to its assortment, which also includes hand-woven and tufted rugs, and other constructions.
The expansion of Amer's offering beyond hand-knotted rugs has produced positive results at the company. "2021 started out with a bang and we are going strong," he said. "We are confident we will achieve our goals for this year and continue the same momentum for 2022 -- in 2020, we saw a surge and growth of 15 percent up from previous year, and 2021 has been even more exciting and are seeing steady growth."
