
ST. LOUIS -- Funeral services were held here Thursday, Aug. 30 for Alan D. Greenberg , co-founder and co-chief executive officer of CCA Global Partners. He died Aug. 28 after a heroic battle with cancer.
He is survived by his widow, Sharon Pollock Greenberg; son and daughter in law Tod and Stefanie Greenberg daughter and son in law Darcy and Dan Glidewell and grandchildren Emma and Abby Greenberg and Natalie Glidewell.

In 1984, Greenberg, a St Louis floor covering retailer, and Howard Brodsky, a Manchester, NH floor covering retailer, formed Carpet Co-Op of America, a group established to negotiate bulk buying rates from carpet and floor covering manufacturers.
Greenberg and Brodsky became co-chief executive officers of the group. They were joined shortly by Sandy Mishkin, who became president of the group.
In 1985, Carpet One was established, with 13 members. By year's end, there were 26 members of the cooperative, with sales totalling $25 million.
In 2001, Carpet Co-Op of America changed its name to CCA Global Partners.
Today, CCA Global is comprised of approximately 4,000 stores with sales over $9 billion.
In addition to Carpet One, CCA Global is the parent company for several other floor covering retail brands, including Rug Decor, GCO Carpet Outlets, Stone Mountain, Flooring America, Flooring Canada, International Design Guild and ProSource Wholesale Floorcoverings.
CCA also operates Magnus Anderson, Lenders One, Lighting One and The Biking Solution.
