MARIETTA, GA
- Wools of New Zealand has appointed Rosstan Mazey as its new chief
executive.
Mazey
previously was the global marketing manager at fresh produce grower and
exporter Turners & Growers. He also has held senior marketing and
innovation roles at Zespri and Dairy Crest in the UK where he has built
a depth of experience and successful track record in marketing quality
New Zealand products globally.
"Rosstan
brings a keen appreciation of international brand development and an
understanding of the importance of building and maintaining
relationships with stakeholders across the value chain," said Mark
Shadbolt, Wools of New Zealand chairman. "These are areas we need to
focus on as we drive our targeted market pull strategy."
Mazey, who
has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Law degree from the University
of Otago, noted, "There aren't any quick fixes to the profitability of
the New Zealand wool industry. But as a relatively new entity, Wools of
New Zealand is certainly headed in the right direction with a focus on
adding value at both the supply and the market end."
Mazey and Shadbolt visited markets in the United Kingdom and the United
States in September to meet with shareholders and brand partners. Mazey
is based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
