BEIJING, CHINA -- Paul Vesely has been named president of the newly-formed Jambros America, LLC, according to Ma Jin, president of Jambros, the rug manufacturer headquartered in China.
The new company will be headquartered in Piscataway, NJ. Vesely's duties will be to service existing business to US-based rug importers. He will also be responsible for developing new business with rug importers in South and Cental America.
"As the pace of development accelerates internationally in the rug industry, we believe it is necessary to develop new business models to better service the needs of our wholesale partners," noted Ma. "By having a U.S.-based office, we can save a great deal of time in bringing our products to our wholesalers, and ultimately to the consumer."
Jambros America will be purely a service-oriented business, Vesely emphasized. "We will not stock products in the U.S. and we are not interested in competing with our existing wholesale customer base. Our primary purpose is to be readily available to our importer customers to assist them with product development and help them get our rugs into their pipleline in an efficient manner," said Vesely.
Jambros has made rugs of all constructions for American rug importers since 1999. The company also sells rugs to wholesalers in other areas of the world.
Recently, Jambros has also become more aggressive in distributing its product to the growing Chinese consumer market, according to Ma.
"We not only manufacture rugs, we also import and distribute rugs and home textile products in China," said Ma. "As surprising as it may seem, Jambros imports rugs into China from such countries as India and Turkey."
Ma added that the company also operates seven rug specialty stores in China.
Industry veteran Paul Vesely was most recently president of Ves-Levi. Earlier, he was for many years president of MER. Vesely also served for several years as chairman of the China committee of the Oriental Rug Importers Association.
