John Kebabian, Jr., of Kebabian's in New Haven, CT, with James Opie of James Opie, Portland, OR. Opie told us that Kebabian's is the oldest ongoing Oriental rug retailer in the US. Founded by the Kebabian family in New Haven in 1882, it is still an anchor of the downtown New Haven retail community.

Rugnews.com got a sneak peek at Nourison's new 10,100 sq. ft. showroom at 295 Fifth Ave. Here, showroom manager Joseph Peykar, left, gives retailer Mark Gonsenhauser a preview of Nourison's new printed line being introduced at  NewYork Home Fashions Market Week Sept. 19 to 23. Mark is owner of the Rug & Carpet Superstore in Virginia Beach, VA. Nourison staff was putting on the finishing touches to the showroom the week before the official opening.
