The Peruvian collection is a textured flat weave made of llama wool. Hand loomed in Peru, $1,630.

Colombian is a contemporary collection made of leather, wool, sisal, copper threads and Cana Flecha (Colombian natural, fiber) using historical techniques including, crochet.  Made in Colombia, $4,075.

BALTA

Sofia is flatwoven of polyester chenille.  Machine-made in Belgium, $99.

Capel Velvet Agra

Velvet consists of a variety of Persian-style designs.  Hand tufted of wool in Indial.  Soft hand and luster washed.  $1,099 in 8x11.

First Impressions is reminiscent of fine, Marseille linens with subtle detail in neutral monochromatic hues. Soft hand and luster washed.  Hand loomed of wool in India.  $1,499 in 9x12.

The Elementals collection consists of artistic floral elements in soft hued patterns Hand tufted of over-twisted wool blend.  Made in India. Walkstone, one of the patterns, was the winning design from the 2008 NC State Design Competition.  $1,399 in 8x11.

Kaimuri is inspired by Persian motifs traditionally found in hand knotted rugs.  Hand tufted of New Zealand long staple wool.  Each rug contains 46,000 yarn tufts per running foot.  Antique washed.  Made in India.  $1,999 in 8'6"x11'6".

Cabana Stripes, from the Capel Anywhere indoor/outdoor line, is a reversible polypropylene braid made in Capel's NC mills.  Colorfast, mold and mildew resistant.  $599 in 8x11.

Chateau, from the Capel Anywhere indoor/outdoor line, features vintage arts and crafts styling in large-scale floral patterns.  Loop hooked of olefin.  Made in China. $399 in 6x9.

Several of Capel’s introductions are being priced exclusively for market.  For added incentive, on a selection of Capel's collections, visitors may buy one and get the same size rug free. This special deal will include all colors and sizes of Varuna, Martha's Pastels and Jahan, as well as selected colors and sizes of Kaimuri, Martha's Vineyard, Regal, Stoneridge and Vente.

Capel will hold a cash drawing daily from Saturday, April 25 to Thursday, April 30. On Tuesday,  April 28, entries submitted will be combined for a grand prize mid-market drawing.

Company C Give a Hoot

The Limited Edition Give a Hoot rug was designed to celebrate Company C’s 15th year in business. The 4x6 rug features a large owl, six different types of yarn and a pole pocket on the back for hanging on a wall.

French Blues is an Imperial Paisley rug.  Hooked and tufted of wool. Made in India.  $630 in 4’6”x6’6”.

Colorful Hooks collection is hooked of wool . Made in China.  $395 in 4’6”x6’6”.

Company C will celebrate its 15th anniversary with guest speaker Mary Liz Curtin, author of A Shopkeeper’s Manual and co-owner of Leon & Lulu.  Curtin will share how to distinguish your shop from the competition, strengthen the connection with customers and increase sales at 3 p.m., Monday, April 27 in the company's showroom.  Following the presentation, at 4 p.m. cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Attendees will also have a chance to win gifts and a drawing will be held to win a 6x9 rug of the winner's choice.

Due Process Stable Trading Co. has partnered with Kravet Carpet to launch Tufts by Kravet Carpet. The luxury collection is hand tufted in both  India and China in wool cut and loop pile. Retail prices range from $2,375 to $4,320 in 6x9 size.

Supershine is an Oushak rug hand knotted  in India. Wool, $3,150 in 6x9.

In celebration of Foreign Accents 25th anniversary, the company will introduce four new collections and 86 new designs.

Festival Collection is hand tufted and carved of plush ¾” pile Favriel  modacrylic yarn. Favriel yarn has a wool-like feel without the shedding. Soil and stain resistant.  Made in China, $398. 

Chelsea collection is hand-tufted and carved of New Zealand wool with viscose artificial silk details. Made in India, $592.

The Martini collection is made of Favriel modacrylic yarn combined with a variety of other premium fibers to create dynamic patterns and bold abstracts.  Soil, flame, stain and mildew resistant.  Hand tufted in India, $498.

Ragtime is hand tufted with metallic gold threads woven throughout for added dimension.  Made of multi-textured polyester yarns. Made in India, $698.

The Capri collection is a custom-dyed medium length shag.  Hand tufted of polyester. Made in China,  $358.

The Southern Living Rug collection, by editors of Southern Living Magazine, consists of 70 styles which include traditional and transitional styles.  Hand tufted of wool and wool and viscose blends. Made in India. $399 to $599.

Four new retail box programs are being introduced.  The program consists of 12-16 rugs per cardboard box. Reversed roll with a POP attached, $39.  Box programs are for transitional and contemporary rugs, machine made and hand tufted. Retail prices points are $79, $99, and $199 in 5x8.

Flokati rugs have been stocked in three qualities in eight colors in multiple sizes.  Meets CPSC standards for flammability.  Hand woven in Greece, $299 to $799.

 Indo Tibetan hand knotted rugs are being introduced in transitional and contemporary designs.  9/25 hand knotted of New Zealand worsted wool. Made in India. $999.

Merida Meridian

Merida introduces its firs rugs as part of a new agreement with National Geographic. Products in the National Geographic Home collection are inspired by the African country of Tanzania and consist of natural fibers including sisal, jute and abaca with new leather, earth tones and culturally relevant patterns.  Some of the sisal rugs in the collection are produced in partnership with a cooperative sisal farming community in Brazil. The collection is divided into five categories to represent the different aspects of Tanzanian culture: Safari, Tribal, Animal, Landscape and Campaign Heritage, $360 to $810.

Safavieh and Market Square will sponsor a Designer Meet & Greet on Sunday, April 26, from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the white party tent in the Courtyard at Market Square. Celebrity designers David Easton, Suzanne Kasler, Thomas O’Brien, and Thom Filicia will attend the party which includes live entertainment, complimentary food and drinks.

The Haiku collection is inspired by the decorative arts tradition of Japan.  It references textile weaving and haute couture, papermaking and ceramics, architecture and interior design.  The collection is divided into four categories: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Hand tufted in a variety of fibers including wool-silk blends, cashmere-wool blends, bamboo and woven cotton.  Made in China.Chiyogami I, shown above, retails for approximately $130  a sq. ft. Custom sizes and colors available. Tai Ping specializes in the to-the-trade channel of distribution.

The collection will be officially introduced in New York on Thursday, April 30, 2009.
