EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- Samad, the hand made rug specialist, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in the U.S. on Jan. 4, 2005, according to David Samad, president of the importing company. The anniversary coincides with the company fifth year at its headquarters building here.
Brothers David and Malcolm Samad founded the company in 1985. They are fourth-generation rug merchants. Brother Jack Samad manages the company's London branch.
Samad designs, produces and imports traditional and decorative hand made rugs of wool and silk. There are currently over 30 collections on the Samad roster.
Samad offers both programmed and one-of-a-kind rugs.They are distributed through the United States, Canada and Europe by independent designer showrooms, Oriental rug specialty stores and fine furniture stores.
