DALTON, GA -- Robert E. "Bob” Garrett Jr., a long-time sales executive of the rug and carpet industry, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Hamilton Medical Center, here. He was 57. He died after a valiant fight with cancer.
A memorial services will be held Thursday, April 5 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton, with the Rev. Josh Young officiating.
Garrett had spent many years in the carpet and rug industry as a sales and marketing executive. He will be remembered for his ebullient personality and up-beat attitude. Despite his illness, he was on hand at the recent Atlanta International Rug Market in January. He had been looking forward to last week's High Point Market, but illness prevented him from attending
In recent years, he had been a sales representative for 828 International Trading and Hellenic Rug Imports. Most recently, he had worked with Krishna Laddha at L. R. Resources.
Garrett is survived by his wife, Marco Garrett of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren and Mills Harris of Huntsville, Ala., Kate and Bob McBryar of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Mack Harris and Lilly McKay Harris; stepson, Andrew Cox of Dalton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 300 W. Emery St., Suite 108, Dalton, GA 30720.
