THE BIGGEST & BEST SHOPPERS' GUIDE TO RUGS AT HIGH POINT MARKET, PART 2 
 

HIGH POINT, N.C.  -- High Point Market's spring edition ushers in hundreds of the latest designs sweeping the area rug market, and includes plenty of license program news, a full schedule of special events and other announcements from vendors -- all of which rug executives expect to result in strong sales.

Rug players surveyed by RugNews.com are predicting a busy spring selling season and have continued to push the envelope at High Point debuting not only new looks and collections featuring cutting-edge textures, constructions and colorations, but also hosting attention-grabbing events. 

Arash Yaraghi, Safavieh principal, told RugNews.com, "We continue to see increased interest in our rugs and home furnishings from year to year. So, we always look forward to the business opportunities and new relationships that each new season reveals to Safavieh."

And even exclusive hand-knot purveyors likeS&H Rugsare seeing upticks in business proving that the high end of the market remains alive and well. Ori Wilbush, founder of S&H Rugs, noted: "Every year we are doing better and better adding more customers to our database and increasing sales. We expect spring 2019 to be good and productive. For High Point shoppers we will be featuring new designs, colors and textures that have never been seen before."

Loloi, which grows its popular Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines and ED Ellen DeGeneres programs, celebrates its big One Five with a special performance by Kenny G on April 6. Momeni is also hosts what's sure to be a standing room only book-signing with license partner Erin Gates on Sunday, and the rug vendor adds to Gates' assortment and also introduces several Momeni branded collection. Likewise, Orian's successful Jennifer Adams program adds to its assortment with the textural, carved SoCal Living and shoppers can expect new super plush Palmetto Living designs as well. 

Oriental Weavers grows its smash-hit Andorra collection of American made rugs with  fresh neutral colorations sure to appeal to buyers scouting the latest color trends. And at Trans-Ocean from New York designer Liora Manne, market-goers can check out her latest designs featuring high-end styling. While at Surya, the big news includes new product category expansions, dozens of new rug introductions and trend-focused vignettes.

Loloi Rugs, which just unveils a enlarged showroom and  its inaugural wall art collection (read more), also expands two popular license programs for shoppers at the spring 2019 High Point Market. The smash-hit Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines adds the hand-woven Newton collection, features a relaxed linear design with a heathered backdrop. Also from Magnolia home is the power-loomed of 100 percent polypropylene Graham collection antique inspired looks.
ED Ellen Degeneres adds Irvine, a range that is hand-woven of wool, cotton, and polyester with variegated yarns, bouclé texture, and twisted fringe border creates a cozy foundation in a room for the perfect casual retreat.

LR RESOURCES

LR Resources, which continues strengthen its LR Home brand, is adding not only several new rug collections but also expanding its increasingly important home decor category, which includes pillows, throws and poufs, said Mike Thompson, vice president sales, direct division/GM. The company will promote its latest machine-made rug collections, a Moroccan shag inspired Outlander series and Imagine, a high-low transitional assortment. 

The company also adds to its successful Naturals collection with eight new designs being unveiled in High Point.

MOMENI, INC.

While Momeni will have plenty of new area rug designs to share with High Point Buyers, the focus this market is on special events created to bring High Point shoppers and designers to the company's showroom, said Rachel Fasciani, vice president, licensing & marketing. "We are so excited to host a meet the author cocktail party at our High Point showroom to celebrate the release of Erin Gates' brand new, already, best-selling book Elements of Family Style, Elegant Spaces for Everyday Life . The special book signing and cocktail hour will be at Momeni's IHFC H-345 showroom on Sunday at 3 p.m. New Erin Gates collections include the Dartmouth, a diamond design of flecks across a striated rug field, and Downeast, a range of in-out traditional motifs in neutral tonal designs.

Despite a roster full of special events, Momeni still has time to showcase its latest area rug collections, including Odessa, a range of high-low global designs.

NOURISON INDUSTRIES

Nourison is rolling out several new area rug collections and introducing a new one-of-a-kind area rug gallery, housed inside the company's IHFC ground floor showroom (read more). "The new gallery speaks to the growing demand for current looks and handmade pieces among interior designers and dealers." The gallery will include over 100 area rugs including both traditional Persian and modern, abstract designs.

ORIAN RUGS / PALMETTO LIVING

Orian/Palmetto Living adds to its popular Jennifer Adams program with a textural modern-neutral collection called SoCal Living. Shown Mandala in Silverton

Orian Rugs/Palmetto living will showcase its latest additions to its most popular collections. "We have rugs to suit today's most popular trend demands, including Farmhouse and Modern Rustic, in a variety of textures from high-low to Cloud 9 super softness," said Julie Weaver. The company is showcasing a new collection from Jennifer Adams called SoCal Living which adds visual dimension and texture with high-low designs featuring soothing colors and soft yarn. The company also grows its sculpted in-out Boucle collection, which features a similar aesthetic.

Orian's Boucle collection reworks the farmhouse look with a tonal high-low treatment for indoor-outdoor use.

ORIENTAL WEAVERS

Oriental Weavers grows its popular Andorra offering with eight new designs in neutral colorations. Shown, 9818G

Oriental Weavers will focus its High Point offering on its latest debuts, which include line extension to its best-selling, American-made Andorra collection. Andorra gains eight new designs, all in neutral colorways. In addition, the company grows its Anastasia range of handmade undyed, natural wool area rugs with a series of abstract designs.

S&H Rugs, which expanded its Market Square space last fall, introduces its latest hand-knot trend-forward designs and colorations for High Point buyers. The New Jersey company is showcasing never-seen-before designs, colors, and textures, and presents its newest Fusion & Oxidized and Silken Roman Mosaic collections.

Safavieh's new power-loomed Farmhouse collection offers a playful take on the New Americana trend. 
 
Safavieh debuts a range of introductions across price-points. For spring High Point, the company is introducing three power-loomed collections Farmhouse, Gabbeh and Kasbah. Farmhouse reworks the New Americana trend in vivid colors; Gabbeh, recasts the classic pastoral scenes and nomadic designs of this rug genre; and Kasbah, offers tribal designs in contemporary colors and a soft hand. It will also offer luxe hand-knots and tufted designs as well.

SURYA

Surya adds dozens of new area rug designs, and is also growing its home assortment to include its first wall sconces and floor pillows (read story).  The Surya showroom will showcase the top color and design trends along with new product introductions across every category including rugs, lighting, accent furniture, wall decor and textiles. The new accessories will span a range of price points and styles. In addition, the company will also debut its first assortments of wall sconces and floor pillows this season.
 
"There is so much to be excited about this spring. We are launching hundreds of new accessories, new programs including an updated Rewards Program and to be announced very soon another to-the-trade showroom location," said Satya Tiwari, president of Surya.

TRANS-OCEAN

Featuring Liora Manne's signature high-end mosaic look is the new Horizon collection Medallion design.

Designed by NYC designer Liora Manne, the latest Trans-Ocean area rugs feature her vibrant and bold designs. Trans-Ocean continues to grow its hugely popular indoor-outdoor Marina collection, crafted under the company's signature Everywear label in fine polypropylene. Marina's new Tribal Stripe design -- inspired by classic Central Asian area rugs -- is machine-woven in Egypt and available in six colors:green, gold, red, denim, silver and black. Trans-Ocean also rolls out Horizon, a series of mosaic-like looks with a high-end appeal.
