ATLANTA -- Loloi celebrated the groundbreaking for its new distribution center to be built in Cartersville, Georgia, at a ceremony on Wednesday, July 11, opening day of the July 2018 Atlanta International Area Rug Market.

On hand at the 60-acre site and future home of the company's 650,000 square foot Georgia facility were principals, Amir Loloi and Cyrus Loloi, who were joined by key Loloi executives and local officials. "It was fun -- we had officials from the county and the state, which was nice," said Amir Loloi, who announced in April plans to build in Georgia.

"Our facility will be completed in about a year and will add 200 jobs in Georgia." -- Amir Loloi

"Loloi is thrilled to invest in a brand new distribution facility based in Georgia," said Loloi. "This infrastructural investment will help us better serve our customers, offer speedier delivery to our East Coast customers as well as nationwide, and meet the growing demand for our product."

"Our new distribution center will be right in the transportation hub for receiving containers from Savannah and shipping out product," he continued. "This was a great opportunity for us because we found a big enough property to meet our needs. Also, we wanted to cater to the east coast corridor -- to be able to ship easier, faster. Everybody wants to get their product faster today, and our goal is to be able to deliver anywhere on the east coast in two days from the Georgia facility. That's the whole idea."

The facility, which Loloi said will be completed in about a year will be staffed locally with some employees relocated from the company's Dallas headquarters. "Most of the 200 people in the Georgia distribution center will be from the region. We will service the East with the whole nine yards -- warehouse, logistics and more in Georgia. And from Dallas we will focus on distribution to the West and Central regions," he said.
