SAFAVIEH TO INTRODUCE EXPANDED MARTHA STEWART COLLECTION
PORT WASHINGTON, NY – Safavieh, in collaboration with licensing partner Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, is expanding its Martha Stewart collection with three new constructions.
“Our new Martha Stewart Rugs capture the essence of the brand’s lifestyle and design sensibilities, and at the same time they set new standards for design and construction,†Arash Yaraghi, a Safavieh principal, told Rugnews.com.
After a preview in Atlanta, the rugs will be formally introduced in the company’s World Market Center showroom, A-101 during the Las Vegas Market, Feb. 1 to 5, 2010.
 Blossom Lattice by Safavieh for Martha Stewart Rugs is a contemporary collection inspired by an antique kimono embroidered with dogwood blossoms. The motif is hand-hooked in China using an extremely dense micro-hook that replicates wool Wilton-woven imported carpets. Blossom Lattice retails for $545 in 5’6â€x 8’6†size.

With inspiration drawn from Martha Stewart’s personal homes, the new offerings manufactured by Safavieh include an updated kimono floral motif, a classic corduroy rib in a contemporary wide wale, and a high-quality rag rug program.
Constructions include hand-hooked rugs with the look of Wilton woven carpet, traditional woven rag rugs and hand-loomed rugs. Depending on construction, the rugs will retail from $199 to $545 in 6’x9’ size. They will be distributed through independent furniture and rug stores.
 Corduroy by Safavieh for Martha Stewart Rugs is a casual design replicating wide-wale corduroy fabrics. Hand loomed in India of viscose and wool in thick and thin cut-pile ribs, Corduroy retails for $495 in the 6x9 size.

 Ragtime by Safavieh for Martha Stewart Rugs is a contemporary design that features a new density of hand-loomed and a distinctive Martha Stewart color palette. Available in five tonal colorways, the collection is made of cotton in China and retails for $199 in the 6x9 size.
