CALHOUN, GA -- In a move to aggressively develop the mass market channel, Surya is introducing the Artistic Weavers brand. Artistic Weavers  will be differentiated from Surya's core collections geared to retailers in the home furnishings business, Paul Sullivan, vice president of national accounts, told Rugnews.com.

The company will officially unveil the new division at New York Home Fashions Week, Sept. 19 to 23. Surya's showroom is located at 7W New York, suite 439.

Monterey.is the first collection for Artistic Weavers. The eight-color machine-woven polypropylene rugs are made in Turkey. Suggested retail is $220 for 5x8.

"Our philosophy is to add value and style at the popular price points," said Sullivan. Artistic Weavers rugs will retail at the $225 and and under price point for 5x8. "The sweet spot will be from $129 to $149," said Sullivan.

Moving forward, Artistic Weavers will have a broad selection of synthetic and wool rugs in both machine made and hand tufted constructions, according to Sullivan.
