KNOKKE, Belgium -- Thibault van Renne has received the prestigious European Product Design Award for Carpets in the competition for 2020 for its new Spaces collection, as well as the 2020 Architizer A+Awards Popular Choice award.

TVR's Spaces collection is based on geometric patterns created from virtual images of 3D architecture, which have been rendered in 2D rugs. The combination of 3D architectural lines and abstract color patterns is very innovative and results in a unique depth and immersive feeling TVR designs are known for.

The creative process for these designs took two and a half years, as the designer took time to reflect on the future of modern design in luxury hand knotted rugs. With this new collection, Thibault Van Renne succeeded in establishing the brand's DNA, while staying ahead of competitive brands through a distinctive design language characterized by refined detail, soft yet vivid colors, unique color flow and only the best quality materials available on the market.

Spaces collection by Thibault van Renne is woven in almost 2000,000 knots per m2.

The rugs are woven in almost 200,000 knots per m2 in India; the materials used are hand-carded and hand-spun wool combined with natural hand-spun silk. As with all TVR rugs the Spaces designs are made according to fair trade principles and to ecological values, fair wages for the workers, no child labor certified using only natural materials and dyes that don't harm the environment.
