Stanton Hires Trey Thames to Accelerate Soft Surface Growth

Stanton Carpet Corp. has appointed long-time industry exec Trey Thames to the new role of senior vice president of soft surface.

Long-time industry executive Trey Thames has been named SVP of soft surfaces, a new position at Stanton.

WOODBURY, N.Y. -- Stanton Carpet Corp., a leading supplier of decorative, high quality self-branded carpet, custom rugs and hard surface has appointed Trey Thames to the new role of senior vice president of soft surface. In this role Thames will lead overall sales responsibility for Stanton’s soft surface business.

Prior to joining Stanton Trey was the SVP of Sales for Mohawk Retail for 6 years. Prior to Mohawk, Trey spent 25 years with Shaw, most recently as VP of Sales for Andersen Tuftex & the VP of Retail Business Strategy. Thames has spent the last 31 years in the flooring business, ascending through Shaw in multiple high-level sales, marketing & product capacities including VP of Sales for Andersen Tuftex and VP Retail Business Strategy.

To amplify Stanton’s strategic expansion plan Mitch White transitions to the new role of VP of Key Accounts & Promotional Sales. Mitch’s dynamic, selfless leadership and outstanding sales abilities have been a cornerstone of Stanton’s extensive growth over the last twenty years. Mitch’s ability to pioneer new and large-scale business for Stanton is exceptional. Stanton will leverage this capability full time to further develop existing & new business across soft & hard surface. Stanton is excited to have Mitch in this capacity optimizing his invaluable efforts towards the company’s overall success.

White, along with Stanton’s Regional Vice Presidents of soft surface will report to Thames. Stanton’s dedicated Regional Vice Presidents of hard surface will continue reporting to Jamann Stepp, Stanton’s Senior Vice president of Hard Surface who joined Stanton in November of 2023. The leadership team of Trey Thames, Jamann Stepp and Mitch White with Stanton’s seasoned team of Regional VPs across both categories is a winning combination for Stanton and its highly valued customer base. Stanton’s management team will collaborate closely with Trey to support soft surface expansion.
