NY NOW Cancels Winter 2021 In-Person Market

NY NOW cancels its in-person winter 2021 market scheduled for Feb. 7-10, 2021 at NYC's Javits Center; focuses on creating digital market instead.

NY NOW postpones its in-person winter 2021 fair held semi-annually at NYC's Jacob Javits Center.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – NY NOW, the modern wholesale market for retailers and specialty buyers seeking diversity and discovery, announced today the cancellation of their in-person Winter 2021 Market scheduled for Feb. 7-10, 2021.

NY NOW’s primary responsibility remains to serve the best interest of their community. The in-person event is being canceled because of the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, including current government restrictions on large gatherings and travel limitations. These government restrictions and the current closure of the Javits Convention Center, along with other regulations imposed in New York City by local government and public health authorities, have made it impossible to stage the NY NOW Winter Show in-person.

“We are extremely disappointed to cancel our winter 2021 in-person market. However, it has become clear that it will not be possible to bring our community together in New York in February. Our attention now turns to build on the success of our recently launched NY NOW Digital Market,” said Tim Hart, SVP, NY NOW. “The Digital Market is a year-round discovery, connection, and lead generation platform for our community, and we were delighted to welcome more than 650 brands for its launch. It’s a privilege to be on this digital journey with our community, and we are thrilled by the possibilities it creates for us all – particularly when digital and in-person converge at the Javits Center in August 2021.”

The Digital Market will remain online as an ongoing resource for buyers through the end of 2020 and beyond. It will serve as a means to stay connected and a year-round engagement, discovery, and connection platform that meets buyers’ sourcing and replenishment needs, any time, from anywhere.

In 2021, the Digital Market will be highlighted by the Winter Market Week running between Thursday, Jan. 28, and Wednesday, Feb. 3. The Winter Market Week will feature a full program of content + experiences, show specials, new product introductions, and more.
