
LOS ANGELES -- Funeral services were held here for Massood Haroonian, founder of Haroonian Rug Co. in Los Angeles. His career in the rug industry spanned over five decades.
He held an unsurpassed reputation for treating his clients and vendors with utmost respect and integrity.
While starting at a young age following in his fathers footsteps in Tehran, Iran, he quickly established himself as a reputable and established expert worldwide.Over 50 years, his clients spanned the globe including Japan, Europe and North America.
In Iran, he held the position of president of the Iranian Carpet Export Council and official expert to the Judiciary (during the reign of the Shah).
While earning his degree in law, he also maintained an active role in the day-to-day affairs of the Iranian Jewish community during his lifetime in Iran.
After moving to the United States, he became a pillar of Iranian Jewish Community abroad. With numerous plaques, awards and distinguished honors Massoud Haroonian left a legacy of honor, good name and sense of pride for his family and community.
He is survived by Pari Haroonian, his wife of 57 years, and three sons George,Alexander and Moussa Haroonian.
