Inspired by the work of abstract artist Mark Rothko, the latest custom rugs by designer Samuele Mazza pay tribute to the genre.

MILAN -- Sahrai, a luxury area rug studio, re-opens its showrooms in London and Milan, and introduced several new collections for the virtual edition of Milan Design Week, which ran from April 12-18.

Among its featured collections are the custom-made rugs -- a tribute to abstract artist Mark Rothko -- designed by Samuele Mazza.

The latest Bespoke collection, Tranquility, part of the company's Artists Section series, features eight designs inspired by German artist Christian Hetzel.

The company is also rolling out its second Bespoke collection inspired by the German artist Christian Hetzel. Part of the Artists Selection series, the eight bespoke rugs of the Tranquility collection are inspired by the large abstract canvases that has made the artist popular in the contemporary art world. His works of art arise from the idea that "less is more," and the area rugs are a tribute to the expressive power of minimalism.

The company's Milan showroom is located at Via Manzoni 45. Virtual appointment are also available.
