Among the best-selling rugs at Home Depot in 2019 was a private label design (Spiral Medallion, 25367-64) from its cross-coordinated Home Decorators Collection program.

ATLANTA -- After announcing it will target the home decor category earlier this year, Home Depot continues to grow its rug assortment and shares its top sellers in 2019 with RugNews.com.

In fact, at the annual AD Home Design Show attended by designers and consumers in March, the 40-year-old home improvement retailer revealed its plans to grow its share of the home decor business (read full story). And area rugs are important part of that strategy.
"Our customers continue to choose the Home Depot to find a wide selection of on-trend area rugs." -- Jessica Campbell, Home Depot Rug Merchant

With nearly 2,300 stores nationwide, Home Depot has been growing its cross-coordinated private label Home Decorators Collection, which includes everything from upholstery to area rugs to home textiles and bathroom vanities in order to expand its market reach. And since spring 2019, the retailer has expanded its new StyleWell brand, a more entry-level assortment, that also includes area rugs.

Home decor is a natural extension for the home improvement giant, as the category provides the finishing touches for customers' decorating and remodeling projects. To that point, area rugs have proven a growing category, one that continues to flourish.
