Michaelian & Kohlberg, Inc. received the America’s Magnificent Carpets Awards this year for its KK4-Horizon rug, a wool Kilim flat weave from Afghanistan.

Kashee & Sons won the Magnificent Carpet Award for its Khotan rug which is hand-knotted of vegetable dyed, hand spun Ghazni wool in Pakistan.

Michaelian & Kohlberg won the second of its 2015 awards for Alhambra (YF102E), which is hand-knotted in Afghanistan of hand-spun, natural vegetable dyed wool and given an antique finish.

Anadol Rug Company’s Gunes rug is hand knotted of silk with 1156 knots per square inch in Hereke, Turkey. It was crafted in the Ozipek workshop of the Cinar family.

The Brushstrokes collection by Kaleen Rugs won in the Hand-Hooked/Hand/Tufted $0-$16 per sq. ft. category.
The collection includes 19 designs hand-tufted of wool in India and retails for $499 in 5x8.

The Ghazni collection rug G7-05 in Navy was selected for the Magnificent Carpet Award in the $0 to $100 category. It is machine made in Turkey of heat set polypropylene that emulates fine quality Ghazni wool from Afghanistan and retails for $359 in 5x8.

Marcella Fine Rugs won in the $100.01 to $200 competition with a bamboo silk rug with intricate medallion pattern power loomed in Belgium.

Oriental Weavers received a Magnificent Carpet Award for the Nomad collection of machine made rugs in the $200.01 to $400 price range. Featuring 13 designs, the Nomad collection is drafted in Egypt of polypropylene with designs incorporating 54 colors and retails for $349 in 5x8.

Smyrna trading won in the $499.01 and above price range for machine made rugs with its Horizon design. Made in Turkey of wool and viscose with hand surging and hand finishing.

Kaleen Rugs won in the outdoor category for its Matira collection which is hand made in India of polypropylene, UV protected and comes with a K-Stop non-skid backing.  The collection includes 21 designs and retails for $269 in 5x8.

Nourison won the licensee category for its Imperial rug from the Dynasty collection for Barclay Butera. Inspired by early 16^th century Asian carpet designs, the rug features 60 colors and a unique hand-finishing technique for antique character.   Power-loomed in China of New Zealand wool and nylon.  The rug retails for $1499 in 5x8.
