MANCHESTER, Conn. -- Bob’s Discount Furniture, one of the nation’s fast-growing furniture retailers, has announced plans to open 20 new stores in 2025, further expanding its presence in the U.S. as part of its ongoing growth strategy. The new locations will include Bob’s first stores in Vermont and North Carolina.

Among the 20 stores, six will be located in North Carolina, marking Bob’s entry into the Southeast. Their Vermont location in Williston will be Bob’s first in the state, reinforcing the company’s strong ties to the Northeast, where it was founded in 1991.

“We’re excited to bring our on-trend assortment of furniture, mattresses, and home accents at everyday low prices to new customers and markets,” said Ramesh Murthy, Chief Operating Officer at Bob’s Discount Furniture. “Adding new territories also allows us to make a local impact on more communities by generating jobs and providing support to local schools and nonprofits, things that have been core to Bob’s since our founding over 30 years ago.”

In speaking to the factors which drew Bob’s to the two new states, Murthy added, “Bob’s has built a loyal customer base throughout New England, and opening a store in Vermont allows us to strengthen our connection with a region that has supported our brand for years. In North Carolina, we believe that the growing population and rich furniture market will be a great fit for our value-driven approach to furniture shopping.”

The grand openings for the 2025 expansion began over President’s Day weekend, with new stores opening in Burnsville, MI; Winchester, VA; Reno, NV; and Davenport, IA. Additional openings are scheduled for the spring in Roseville, MI, Bohemia, NY, and Montgomeryville, PA.

Summer and fall grand openings will include locations in Long Island City (Queens), NY; Eatontown, NJ; Easton, PA; Williston, VT; Troy, MI; Dorchester, MA; Sacramento, CA.; and several cities in North Carolina, including Durham, Fayetteville, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Winston-Salem, and Cary, one of which will mark the chain’s 200th location. The company will also be relocating stores within Newington, CT and Mays Landing, NJ.

Bob’s Discount Furniture will tap into its robust infrastructure to support its expansion, with plans to utilize existing distribution centers and third-party delivery partners to ensure a seamless customer experience in the new markets.

“We are excited to see how these new markets embrace Bob’s low pressure, no-gimmick approach to furniture shopping,” Murthy said. “Our mission is simple: we believe everyone deserves a home they love. We will continue to look for opportunities in the Southeast and beyond to turn that belief into a reality for customers all across the U.S.”

With the addition of these 20 stores, Bob’s Discount Furniture continues to build on its strong retail presence while bringing affordable, stylish furniture, mattress, and home accents to new customers in key growth regions.

Founded in 1991 in Manchester, Conn., today the company operates more than 190 stores across the U.S., and offers an on-trend assortment of furniture, mattresses, and home accents at everyday low prices.
