SAN FRANCISCO – Premium lifestyle brand Banana Republic, a Gap Inc. brand, has entered the home category with the March 28 debut of BR Home online and in 15 stores across the county. The collection includes a broad selection of rugs, bedding, pillows, and home decor crafted by artisans and craftspeople around the globe.

From the Banana Republic Modern Textured Wool collection, Eternity is woven in India of 100 percent wool pile ($2,695 in 8x10).

Prices range from $40 for washed cotton pillowcase sets to $7,550 for its most luxurious handwoven, oversized rugs made in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The eight debuting BR Home rug collections include Classic Wool, Moroccan Berber, Contemporary Wool, Natural Jute, Textured Modern Wool, Shag Wool, Nomadic Heritage, and Modern Flatweave. From sleek Italian-milled linen and wool blends to hand-spun New Zealand wool rugs, every design in the Banana Republic rug collection celebrates the locale where its story began.

All products are exclusively created and curated by Banana Republic. BR Home dipped its toes in the home category last fall with the launch of ART, Curated by Banana Republic, a collection of exclusive works from artists and photographers.

“Our expanded Home collection is central to our vision to be the premier lifestyle brand that positions BR as an experiential and cultural cornerstone in our customers’ lives,” said Sandra Stangl, president and CEO of Banana Republic. “Banana Republic is a destination for discovery, adventure and imagination.”

“After traveling to every corner of the globe, collaborating with masterful makers and artisans, we’re proud to bring these exclusive pieces to the place where your journey starts anew each day,” Stangl said. Indeed, the company’s long-standing brand positioning is ideally suited to the area rug category, where artistry is unique to exotic weaving centers across the globe.

Hand-knotted in undyed wool with a plush pile and organic high and low designs, Highlands from the BR Home Shag
Wool Rugs collection retails at $1250 in 6x9.

Encouraging customers to build a sanctuary of comfort and style, BR Home expands offerings with an exclusive spring collection of premium bedding, rugs, pillows, and decor. The brand remains focused on its dedication to unparalleled craftsmanship and utilizing the highest-quality materials and natural fabrics, such as fine European linen, plush cotton cashmere, and organic cotton.

“Discovery and self-expression are an integral part of our customers’ lives at home, work and away,” said Aaron Rose, head of commerce & experience for Banana Republic. “We know our customers care deeply about great style, design, and quality in all aspects of their lives, and we are excited for BR Home to be a central part of their personal lifestyle.”
