American Dakota Debuts Expanded Lodge and Southwest Rug Lines at Atlanta Market

AMERICAN DAKOTA DEBUTS EXPANDED LODGE AND SOUTHWEST RUG LINES AT ATLANTA MARKET

Copper Canyon, an introduction slated to debut at AmericasMart in January, is part of a new 19-rug series from American Dakota.

CALHOUN, Ga. -- American Dakota will introduce 19 new rug designs at the upcoming Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market, Jan. 12-19, 2016. The collections expand American Dakota's increasingly popular offering of lodge and southwest rug designs.

All new patterns retail from $299 to $369 in 5x8 and are made in Georgia from EnduraStran nylon.

American Dakota will present new rugs featuring the art of Randy L. Barton, a Diné (Navajo) artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Barton's work as an artist, DJ and street painter influence a uniquely modern abstract style and energy which American Dakota has translated into rugs through vibrant dyes recreating the colors of plants and minerals of the southwestern U.S.  "Part of American Dakota's mission is to align ourselves with creative Native Americas who project a positive message in their art, and we spilt profits fifty-fifty with the Native Americas we partner with," explained Mark Ford, American Dakota president.

Another new lodge-inspired line called the Johnny D Collection will also debut in Atlanta. Among the designs are Life Path and Sacred Trail, which are machine made of nylon.  "There are no restrictions on retails with Johnny D, so stores can set their own pricing. We are only allowing this with a small collection to see how it goes.  All other rugs are still following our disciplined MAP guidelines," Ford said.
