HIGH POINT, N.C. – The LR Home showroom was abuzz with designers and furniture retailers on Monday, April 4, at the High Point Market launch party for the debut Stacy Garcia pillow collection.

Nora Gomez, chief merchandising officer at Nebraska Furniture Mart, told RugNews.com at the event that the multi-store retailer is a big Stacy Garcia fan. “We’re taking the entire pillow program; we already have her rugs with Karastan and we previewed her new furniture with Klaussner.” The NFM team made a strong showing at the LR Home showroom, including company Chairman Irv Blumkin.

“The inspiration for my pillow collection with LR Home was really to bring a fun modern look to their mix," the New York-based Garcia told RugNews.com. "One of the things we did this market was graphic patterns. We started with fun graphic designs and we had a lot of fun with them working on different constructions." Pointing to the display, which included three full racks of color coordinated pillows, Garcia explained, “These are all made in India and the constructions are gorgeous.” She noted that embellishments were an important element in creating a signature collection.

Stacy Garcia Pillows from LR Home are designed to mix and match in a range of coordinating fabrics and colors.

"We played with some piecework, so we have a couple of pillows that have piecework of velvet, mixed with crewel and prints, but they are done with graphic designs. We pulled from those [more elaborate designs] simplified versions so that there’s crewel work that goes with them, there’s embroidery, and a little cellular woven that has multi-colors, pulling all the colors together. We even did one that’s a flocked velvet that’s gorgeous on a beautiful slubbed cotton.

“We wanted to do a collection that we could really mix and match, so from a buyer’s perspective it’s really easy to merchandise and build a story," Garcia continued. "You have the solids in the silk, you have the solid in the cotton velvet and all those colors complement the bright bold graphic patterns."

Garcia’s signature pillow design, featuring crewel embroidery and velvet embellishments on a slubbed cotton ground, attracted High Point Market Style Spotter Monika Nessbach, owner of Designbar, a Charlotte commercial interior design firm. In fact, Garcia's signature design was Style Spotted for BEST IN SHOW by Nessbach.

Attending the LR Home launch party with her team member, interior designer Eleni Georgopoulos, Nessbach styled a photo with two of her favorite designs for the Style Spotter social media program.

Known for her funky, young, modern style, Nessbach gravitated to the multicolor embellished signature pillow with multicolor piecework on the slubbed cotton ground. Another signature pillow features what Garcia describes as “an outstanding print with beadwork that makes a wow statement.”

With coordinating colors throughout the collection Garcia encourages retailers and consumers to use the statement piece on a bed or a sofa, and layer in the solids with it.

Garcia for LR Home collection for the coveted High Point Market Style Spotters photo promotion.

Krishna Laddha, chairman and co-founder of LR Home, said of the licensing program with Garcia: "This partnership cements our commitment to total home. We have been continually updating our classic and high fashion area rug collections, as well products for our expansion into additional home fashion categories, such as soft textiles and furniture," he continued. "Buyer response confirms that LR Home will not only continue to be a source for dynamic appeal and styling within the area rug category, but in a growing roster of home accents and furniture as well."

New York-based Designer Stacy Garcia, who founded her eponymous textiles, carpeting, wallcoverings, furniture and lighting design studio in 2004, added Karastan Rugs to her licensing portfolio in September 2021. Her expertise across home furnishings products and color trends combine in her licensing programs – which prioritize design, form, function and value.
