ACTON VALE, QUEBEC – Marcel Poirier has been named vice president of the commercial business division for Beaulieu Canada, according to Karel Vercruyssen, chief executive officer of Beaulieu Canada.

Poirier will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial and hospitality business of Beaulieu Canada.  He will be based in Beaulieu Canada’s Mississauga sales and marketing office.

"Poirier is well known and respected throughout the commercial community in Canada and has had a long term relationship as an account manager with Beaulieu Canada.  He brings  knowledge and expertise in the commercial flooring industry that will strengthen our company's competitive position in Canada.”

Poirier began his floor covering career with  DuPont in 1974 as a polymer engineer.  Later  he joined the commercial carpet sales organization of DuPont/Invista with responsibility for the Canadian market.

Poirier has been recognized by the commercial carpet community for his expertise in understanding carpet performance in all applications.  In 2005, he was honored with  the title of "Honorary Governor of the Interior Design Society of the Province of Quebec."
