SHAW HOSPITALITY GROUP
INTRODUCES ECOEVOLUTION

Angela Adams’ Executive collection by Shaw Hospitality Group is one of the first print carpet collections available in EcoEvolution.

DALTON, GA – Shaw Hospitality Group has introduced EcoEvolution, a new carpet print base that unites hospitality floor covering design with sustainability.

Shaw said that EcoEvolution is the hospitality industry’s reclaimable, sustainable print base created to be 100% recyclable into virgin quality ingredients that can be repeatedly made into new carpet.

This  print base is manufactured with Shaw Industries’ Eco Solution Q nylon, which contains 25% pre-consumer recycled content and is Cradle to Cradle Silver Certified by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC). Shaw is the first carpet manufacturer to receive this rating.

“With no nylon degradation and no future design restrictions after the recycling process, this revolutionary print base cements Shaw Hospitality Group as a leader in sustainability and innovation,” said Desiree Worsley, Shaw Hospitality Group vice president of marketing. “EcoEvolution is the latest example of Shaw Industries’ commitment to Sustainability through Innovation. This carpet never has to enter a landfill and can be made into new carpet again and again.”

EcoEvolution is 100% sustainable through the Shaw Green Edge Recycling Program through a closed loop process. EcoEvolution, along with Shaw Hospitality Group tufted and CYP (computer yarn placement) products, can be reclaimed at the end of their useful life through one of more than 40 nationwide collection centers. The reclaimed carpet is taken to the Shaw Evergreen Recycling Facility in Augusta, GA., where the carpet is broken down through a depolymerization process to form caprolactum monomer, the building block of new Eco Solution Q nylon.

EcoEvolution, in addition to tufted guest room and CYP carpets, contributes to the LEED point rating system for recycled content, low emitting materials and innovation in design. Additionally, EcoEvolution is Green Label Plus Certified.

Shaw Hospitality Group’s new collections, Urban Camouflage, Ricochet and Angela Adams’ Orchid and Executive collections, are the first print carpet collections available in EcoEvolution.
