ATLANTA -- Jaipur Rugs has formed a consulting partnership with Nader Emami, the current president of Jaipur Rugs Inc. 

Emami will resign his post as president of Jaipur Rugs, Inc., effective July 31 in order to further develop Tapesh.

The collaboration between Jaipur and Tapesh has been made to better capture market share as well as add value to Jaipur's client base, according to Asha Chaudhary, chief executive officer of Jaipur Rugs. 

Emami formed Tapesh Enterprises, Inc. last month to explore new aspects of marketing product through private labeling, licensing, specialty retail and hospitality market. In addition, he will form new concessions with various established entities within the home furnishing industry. 

"Tapesh" is the Farsi word for heartbeat, according to Emami.

 "Today our industry is facing a fundamental change.  Globalization is reshaping the face of the rug industry in the US," said Emami. "Growing numbers of manufacturers around the world are distributing their product directly. This shift will result in various manufactures overseas seeking guidance through the US market as well as retailers finding a greater need to partner with vendors in order to stay competitive.€VbCrLf 

Tapesh will be formally launched in August with additional manufacturing collaborations, Emami said.

"The collaboration of the two companies will ensure the continuation of Jaipur's current path of success,"  noted Chaudhary.

"We realize that in today's market we need every edge we can get€VbCrLf she said. "We need to continuously look at new ways to capture market share.  Emami's knowledge of the wholesale and retail market will help Jaipur reach that goal.€VbCrLf 

Both Chaudhary and Norah Medin, Jaipur's national sales director, will be taking on additional roles after Emami's departure.

"With guidance from Emami and the hard work of the entire Jaipur team, we have made tremendous strides in the last year.  Our company relocated its warehouse and corporate office from Dalto, GA,  to Atlanta, revamped the AmericasMart showroom, tripled the size and scope of the programmed line, launched a new catalog, delivered top of the line sales tools and covered the country with sales reps," Chaudhary noted.
