AVALON FLOORING HOSTS DESIGNER EVENT HEADLINING COUTURIER BOB MACKIE AND HIS KAS RUG COLLECTION

CHERRY HILL, NJ -- Avalon Flooring hosted "A Night of Inspiration" for its designer customers last month at its Cherry Hill Showroom. At the event, over 50 local interior designers met with and discussed design with fashion and celebrity costume designer Bob Mackie. 


Celebrity fashion designer Bob Mackie previews his area rug line with KAS Rugs at an event at Avalon Flooring's Cherry Hill, NJ location. 

Avalon set up the showroom so that all of Mackie's rugs on display were paired with sketches of his most famous costume designs for celebrities such as Cher, Tina Turner, Carol Burnett and Marilyn Monroe. Included in the displays with the Mackie Rugs were chairs provided by the IFDA Philadelphia Chapter from their Take a Seat exhibition. Take a Seat is a national charity fundraising event that benefits local chapter charities, and for 2017 all proceeds from the Philadelphia chapter will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County. 
 
At the event Maryanne Adams, president & CEO of Avalon Flooring told guests: "For over 50 years, we have been committed to providing the industry with the most inspiring products for every room in the home, and when the KAS team so graciously offered to help us pull off this event, we knew we had to do it. It was a tremendous honor to have Bob here with our customers and to celebrate the art that is home design."


The dramatic Eye of the Peacock rug by Bob Mackie Home for Kas Rugs is hand-tufted in a blend of wool and viscose. 
During his speech, Mackie said, "You will see here today that we worked together [with KAS] to come up with some show-stopping designs for the floor that reveal home trends I've seen in the making for years. You can be inspired by everything we've created together; decorating is fun with these exquisite rugs and especially [will be for] all of the talent here tonight."
