MINK TO TAKE OVER MACYS.COM RUG BUSINESS
NEW YORK -- The Mink Co. will assume responsibility for the macys.com rug business, in addition to currently serving as Macy's licensee for store rug operations, according to Jeff Kantor, president of Macys.com. The move is effective in the Spring of 2012.
"With this change, customers will be able to shop the same rug assortments on line as in-store, enjoy the same sales and promotional events, and take advantage of instore features such as search and send while shopping in a store location," said Kantor.
"As Macy's becomes a true omni-channel retailer we believe this new Macys.com/Mink relationship will allow us to have a seamless experience for our customers and fuel growth in the area rug business in both channels," he added.
The Mink organization was named to head Macy's in-store rug departments in October, 2009. The company has had a long history as a lease department operator for Macy's stores on a regional and national basis.
"We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers a truly seamless experience , whether she or he shops in a store, on line, via their mobile device, in any way they wish. This is a great example of making our strategy really work to put the customer at the center of all decisions," Kantor noted.
