DALTON, GA – Sphinx by Oriental Weavers will introduce a collection of hand-tufted reversible wool pile rugs during the January 2010 Atlanta area rug market.
The Options collection is hand-tufted in India and retails for $599 for a 5’x8.' Options Sylk is a collection of hand-tufted wool pieces with viscose highlights that retail for $799 in 5’x8’ size.

One side of this Options design features a floral transitional design while the opposite side has a contemporary look.

"The new Options and Options Sylk collections are revolutionary products that provide unprecedented fashion alternatives for the floor and can diversify a room setting for any season, occasion or mood with the “flip†of a rug" commented Mike Riley, president of Oriental Weavers USA.
Designs range from everyday casual to formal living in an assortment of styles as well as various textures and trend-setting color palettes. The rugs go from every-day casual to formal with a simple flip, Riley explained.
Riley discussed how the concept came about. “For years many consumers have changed their décor from season to season. Whether it is rugs, pillows, or other accessories, people like to make decorating changes to their home. We have made transforming your décor simple by introducing the world’s first truly reversible hand-tufted rug,†he said.
The collections will be the focus of a national advertising campaign that will be supported through newspaper and magazine ads, direct mail, and web-based promotions to bring consumers directly to the retailer’s floor for a firsthand look at the industry’s “only†truly reversible hand-tufted rugs, Riley noted.
"Options and Options Sylk will not be available for Internet distribution, so all national advertising and electronic promotion will be designed to drive consumers to their local Sphinx retailers," according to Riley.
In addition, authorized retailers offering the reversible collections will be supported by a variety of promotional and merchandising tools. Sphinx has developed in-store merchandising vehicles, press-ready advertisements and consumer focused promotional materials that can be custom tailored to the dealer’s needs.
As the first product of its kind in the industry, the reversible Options and Options Sylk collections will be exclusively offered through a limited network of select authorized retailers across the country, the company said.
