PAKISTAN CARPET EXHIBITION
SET FOR AUGUST 28 TO 31
LAHORE, PAKISTAN -- The Pakistan Carpet exhibition will be held August 28 to 31 at the Expo Centre Fortress Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan, according to Akhtar Nazir (Cooki) Khan, chairman of the exhibition organizing committee.
The event, which is attracting rug importers worldwide, will be held in the historic city of Lahore, in the heart of Pakistan's hand knotted rug industry.
"The exhibition will be an opportunity to explore the developments and innovations in traditional contemporary designs for hand knotted carpets," said Khan. "Programmed design collections are one of the salient features of the show, which will also include the opportunity to purchase unique one-of-a-kind products."
The organizing committee is making special arrangements for attendees to stay at five star hotels in the area. Special flight arrangements are also being offered.
Abdul Ghafoor Sajid is chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers & Export Association, one of the event's sponsors. In addition to Khan, other members of the Exhibition Organizing Committee include Mian Javed-ur-Rehman, chief organizer and Waqar Rasheed, deputy chief organizer.
The Export Promotion Bureau of the Government of Pakistan is supporting the event.
