MISSISSAUGA, CANADA – Hellenic Rugs Canada has entered a partnership with Care & Fair, to help sponsor Kantilal Vidya Mandir School, based in Badhoi, India. The school provides free education, school uniforms and books to 289 students.
In addition, the school houses Kantilal Vidya Mandir Clinic that provides free treatment and medicines and treats about 6,000 patients per year.
Kantilal Vidya Mandir School was founded in 1987 and started with 16 children who were taught by two teachers under a tree. Over the years the school has grown to have a sprawling campus with classes from Kindergarten to Grade 5 and also a Women’s Empowerment centre that provides free training in sewing to older girl siblings. The school employs 10 teachers and four administrative staff.
Care & Fair is a non-government organization (NGO)working to eradicate child labor and provide opportunities of growth and development to children of carpet weaving families.
