S&H RUGS HEADS TO NY NOW WITH FRESH FASHION, UPBEAT 2019 FORECAST

Expected to be among designers' favorites at the S&H booth at NY Now (Aug. 11-14) are classics in fashion colors, such as Sunset Rosettes hand-knotted in wool and pure silk (SH47203).

NEW YORK -- With 2019 sales of its hand-knotted rugs outpacing the same period a year earlier, S&H expects the summer edition of NY Now and a burst of new designer projects to help close the year on a high note.

"NY Now has taken some serious measures to bring in and keep better and higher-quality vendors at the show," said Ori Wilbush, president of the New Jersey-based hand-knot specialist, noting that show organizers have improved the marketing and lecture series with more important and influential speakers. "Plus this year and this summer have been better overall -- and busier -- with decorating projects and budgets being approved, and many spaces needing to get filled with designer products."

For market, S&H will offer designers walking the aisles of NY Now, which runs from Aug. 11-14, a selection of its most fashion-forward designs, illustrating its willingness to experiment and push the boundaries with styling and weave innovations.

"We constantly try new color combinations, textures and designs that have never been tested before," said Wilbush. "Designers are looking for more colorful and upbeat pieces -- less grays over grays -- more punches of color."

A bold flamingo pink adds a fresh take to this hand-knotted broken Persian erased design (SH46240) by S&H Rugs.

Wilbush expects tribal and vintage styled rugs to dominate the buying decisions made by NY Now market-goers.

And although the company has developed "a very nice high-quality line" of hand-loomed area rugs, it plans on continuing its focus on its hand-knot specialty.

Below are a sample of the latest designs that will be on show at S&H's booth #2568:

The palettes of tonal patterns are warming, and this gray and beige hand-knotted mosaic texture in wool and silk by S&H (SH46923) is right on target.

S&H updates tribal looks with modern color combination such as this hand-knotted wool Kazak (SH51200).

Distressed looks continue to be popular with designers and this S&H hand-knot (SH46934) marries pure silk with textured wool and reworks a traditional motif in contemporary color combinations.

This barely-there erased Heriz borderless hand-knotted design from S&H Rugs (SH47187) features the trending denim and navy blue that designers are sourcing.

S&H Rugs expects erased and faded looks with soft colorations to attract buyers at shows this summer. Shown, SH47186 hand-knotted of wool and silk.

S&H continues to grow its collection of erased Roman mosaic inspired designs due to increasing designer demand. SH47208
